Michelle studied Music at Bath Spa University College where she specialised in performance and graduated with an Honours degree. Michelle has over ten years teaching experience and her teaching practice is based in North Bristol.

Alongside her large teaching practice Michelle is currently principal flautist for Brunel Sinfonia and Bristol Classical Players orchestras, founder member of the Topaz Flute & Harp Duo and a regular guest soloist with the Avon and Somerset Constabulary Male Voice Choir.

Gill Gordon studied piano and singing at the Guildhall School of Music - piano with Bridgette Wild, Claudio Arrau's teaching representative in London. She taught piano in London and Portishead for 17 years before moving into business for several years as her children were growing up. She has been training to teach in this way for the last 3 1/2 years and is about to take the level 4 teaching qualification.

Gill is also involved in the development of Suzuki method for Brass, having been invited to join a project for this by the director of the European Suzuki Association.

Lavinia studied music at Bristol University and then continued piano studies to Diploma Level with Ronald Lees. After a brief spell teaching music in schools she started piano teaching from home while bringing up her family of three children. Her first encounter with the Suzuki method was through her 3-year old daughter's violin teacher. She was intrigued to discover that the same idea could work for piano and started to train as a Suzuki teacher in 1983. Having completed the 5 levels of graduation in this country she spent three months in Japan in 1990 working with Haruko Kataoka and observing Shinichi Suzuki's own teaching. She has around 30 pupils and is an assistant teacher trainer for the British Suzuki Institute.

Anna Sibley

MA graduate of the K. Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, specialising in piano solo performance and chamber ensembles. She has performed in Italy, USA and Germany and participated in masterclasses with A Jasinski, M. Papadopulos, B. Roberts, J. Stompel. Anna has taken part in many competitions, winning the first prize at the International Competition for 20th Century Music in Wroclaw, Poland. She has recorded for the Polish and Austrian radio and participated in the Oxford Philomusica Piano Festival in the Summer 2004. For the last 3 years Anna performed at concerts organised by University of Bristol and also cooperates with University of Bristol as an accompanist.

Anna is the founder and the Head Tutor at the Bristol Music School. She lives in Bristol with her husband Mat and son Alexander.

As a child Saffron learnt Suzuki Piano with Margaret Merrington, who studied with Mrs Kataoka in Japan. She went on to take Grade 8 Piano and receive a BA Hons from Leeds College of Music. Saffron has ten years experience teaching piano. In her teaching she draws from her many musical experiences which include:- studying Indian classical vocal music with Ajoy Chackrobarty in Kolkatta, India, Tonalis Steiner music teacher training course, teaching classroom music at St Paul’s Steiner School in London, orchestrating and copying for Simon Whiteside on films/TV series such as Disney’s African Cats, Brighton Rock, Dorian Gray and Downton Abbey, as well as composing for big band, string quartet, small ensemble and shadow puppet performance.

Jenny started learning Suzuki violin at the age of 3 and by the age of 11 she was giving recitals in this country and abroad, touring Sweden once and the USA and Canada three times. Later she attained a music degree from the University of Manchester and completed a Performance Diploma with a Distinction from the Royal Northern College of Music. After leaving the RNCM Jenny had a successful freelance career and worked with all the major orchestras in the North West: Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, The Halle, BBC Philharmonic, Manchester Camerata, Northern Chamber Orchestra and Northern Sinfonia. Jenny took the permanent position of Co-Principal Second Violin of the RLPO in 2004. Whilst she was with the RLPO she taught privately and she also became part of the music education team working in diverse settings within the community as well as delivering music sessions at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and in a variety of mental health settings for the Mersey Care NHS Trust. Jenny left her orchestral post to move to Bristol and to revisit her Suzuki roots. Jenny passed Level 1 Suzuki in 2015 and is developing a thriving Suzuki teaching practice. She is currently working towards completing her Level 2 Suzuki training.

Emma Butterworth grew up in the Suzuki Method, beginning the cello at the age of 4 and learning with Christine Livingstone. She studied at Cambridge University, and later trained as a Suzuki teacher. She now teaches from her home in central Bristol. Emma has been teaching for the past nine years and also performs as a singer and session cellist. As a conductor, Emma has worked with many student and adult orchestras, ranging from early years ensembles to post grade 8 groups. She has also coached a wide variety of chamber music ensembles, and enjoys leading improvisation sessions. As well as playing and teaching, Emma is a prolific composer and arranger of music for a wide variety of ensembles and genres. She has recently gained a Master’s in Composition for Film and TV at the University of Bristol.

Ewelina Nowogorska, MA graduate in cello performance from Feliks Nowowiejski Music Academy in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

She has taken part in numerous festivals such as Orchestra Course in Playstein, Germany, as well as taking part in workshops and masterclasses by Professor Kazimierz Michalik. Ewelina toured Finland and Sweden as a part of Chamber Orchestra "Balticum Academy". She also cooperated with Polish Symphony Orchestras and string quartets and has performed in Japan, USA, Portugal & New Zealand.

Ewelina first became aware of the Suzuki method in 2009 and embarked on the teacher training with Anja Maja in Gdansk. She lives in Bristol and runs her teaching studio at the Bristol Music School.
